As interesting I think this is I can't quit agree on L4D being the same all the time. The game is what you make of it. I myself have chosen to find friends who are suitable for a nice game. As I got one of my friends into this game (or rather L4D2 for now) I'd have my eyes set on Ellis, simply because I 'liked him'. So when we went into the game I was quick to pick him and she ended up picking Nick also because she 'liked him.' But the more we played the more difficult it somehow became to play it right. For our feeling at least.

We're the kind of fans who really get into these things and as to speak for myself I'm the type who gets 'in-character'. Not a easy thing with a game so free as L4D when it comes to character choices but this little thing makes all the difference to me for a game to become interesting or enjoyable.

Our chosen characters didn't match up with our personality at all. I found it not only difficult but also weird to have to tell Nick of all people on what to do, that me being Ellis had to look out for him. To me it didn't add up and I found myself growing annoyed.

In the end after reviewing our game play we came to the conclusion we should switch our rolls and we found out that we not only play easier but with more fun this way. It's basically creating your own classes within a world that doesn't quit has one.

Your mention of trying to beat the game with four Zoeys, etc, reminded me of playing Final Fantasy back in the day. Playing with four warriors or four red mages, etc. It's an interesting take on the game and it relates to FF, way to go, heh.

If you think there aren't classes in L4D, you have never played as the infected.

There are people that want L4D/L4D2 to have character classes...but many, many more that don't. L4D/L4D2 works because there _aren't_ classes.

I would totally play this mod, if anyone every made it.

One idea: give Zoe the ability to see where special infected are, since she's the social one this should get players talking amongst themselves. Obviously there would have to be some limits on this so it wasn't overpowered, but you get the idea.
