I was right!  Tell your sister, I was riiiiiiight.

Valve released the first of the Heavy weapons update in their week-long burlesque strip-tease for the Heavy Update today, and it turns out it’s a set of boxing gloves that gives crits when you kill someone with them.

Huh, where did I see that design before……..oh yeah, that’s right.  Sheeeeit, mine even looks better than theirs.

While I’d love to pretend that Valve read my designs and went with them, I’m sure this isn’t the case.  Obviously, I’m not genius; it’s not too far of a stretch to imagine boxing gloves for a guy whose melee is based off of bare fists.  And theirs are much more simplified than mine; theirs deliver 5 seconds of crits if you kill someone with the gloves; mine gave crits for the Hammer (so you dealt crit punches with it the more you landed punches with it), and the right glove stole health if you landed punches with it.  I kinda prefer mine, as it seems that they’re merely interested in just giving crit time for the mini-gun.  Their design for this update was “make the Heavy less dependent on the Medic,” when what this design says to me is “make the heavy less dependent on the Medic for crits.”  Which is kinda silly.  I guess we’ll just have to wait it out a few more days to see what the shotty replacement is, and then the big reveal for the mini-gun update will no doubt come the Monday before the update.

At any rate, I’m wondering if my second design was on the money for what Valve was planning, as one of the achievements seems to be a rocket deflection ability achievement.  While I wasn’t talking about deflection, I was talking about damage mitigation for Sasha’s Skirt.

Guess I’ll have to wait and see come Monday.
