Videogames as Learning Device

in general

Not exactly conclusive scientific evidence, but Fake Plastic Rock finds proof that Rock Band can teach you to play the drums. Kevin from G4′s Attack of the show actually substitutes on drums for Coheed and Cambria. Like, the real band.

Now if only I could show you legally how WWIIOnline taught me how to fly a plane (honest, handled taxiing, take-off, flying airport to airport and stuck the landing), I think we’d have a good followup story. Unfortunately I didn’t videotape it and it is no doubt illegal in my state to pilot a plane unlicensed and without a licensed instructor…

So, uh…yeah. What have videogames taught you?

“What have videogames taught you?”

I have become multi talented just from playing the DS alone!

Lawyer, doctor, P.I., female chef, witch toucher

I am confident after playing these games I can excel at the real life version.

I think you would enjoy this article
It and the two previous articles take a critical look at the education system and its future (video games).

I think video games largely developed my critical thinking skills over the years.

I’ve also learned to evade police by ducking behind a dumpster for 30 seconds.
