Oh, it’s “Listening,” is it?

Okay, so the Turok devs put in an achievement that would require you to team-kill a friendly in order to get it. Even if it were only worth 5 points (hell, even 0 points), that was what I thought would be the biggest dick move you could make as a developer to your fanbase.

But then the devs one-up themselves and say they’re “listening to the fan base” by patching it on release day to remove it!

Lewinson: Well, here’s the thing. A lot of folks got uptight about it when the Achievement list was leaked. They were yelling on the forums about how we’re awarding anti-social behavior. Won’t somebody think of the children and all that nonsense so, you know, to our credit we listened to the fan-base, and we patched the Achievement to remove that team-killing portion, so everything’s well in the universe once again. Never let it be said that we won’t listen to the fan-base and if there’s something that they feel really strongly enough about, we’re always willing to go back and take a second look.

Who knew that pulling the knife you plunged into your fanbase’s back was doing them some kind of favor? We should all strive to be bigger dicks to our fanbase by doing everything in our power to encourage griefing, and then pat ourselves on the back when we remove it due to the incessant whining on our forums! Brilliant!

Although, I think your first problem in this scenario was being excited about another Turok game. I probably should have added that to my list.
