Look, I know we’ve all heard the whole Accordian Hero thing beat to death, and then there’s the 5 seconds worth of hilarity that is Cowbell Hero, but I got this crazy idea tonight while playing “New Years’ Poker” with some friends online and listening to some of my music video favorites on YouTube. I want a shamisen controller:

Come to think of it, I’m going to need two controllers and a friend who’s as dorky as I am to play that properly…Please, oh please, oh please, Harmonix/EA, get some licensing for some Yoshida Bros? Maybe? Pretty please? With sugar on top?

Why does Japan get the cool arcade games? I had no idea they’d made a traditional shamisen game already.

As far as I know it didn’t do well. Also, as designed it would have never worked in the states, not only because few people know what a shamisen is but because with the special pick and stuff it was not designed to take too much abuse. Japan doesn’t have the vandalism problems the west does :-(
